The tuberose is a night-blooming plant thought to be native to Mexico. It has been cultivated in Hawaii for many years now and has become a very popular lei making flower here. Its scent is described as a complex, exotic, sweet floral.
Brought to Hawaii in the early 1800s, the rose has been an integral part of lei making in Hawaii ever since, used frequently as accents in both traditional haku leis as well as more contemporary orchid leis. The pink lokelani or cottage rose is the Island of Maui’s official flower – the only non-native plant to be recognized as the official flower of any of the Hawaiian Islands.

I live in WA & I received this beautiful lei from my sister for my birthday. It smells heavenly and it makes me miss home so much! The lei looks just as pictured, but more beautiful in person! It had arrived 4 days before my birthday and I was pleased that the lei did not turn color nor did it lose its smell. It came with care instructions since it is a very delicate lei. I am astonished to say that the lei lasted a good 2 weeks!!
